About Us

Visit the Guild of Fine Food website...

The Guild of Fine Food was formed in 1995. Its mission is to support and encourage greater professionalism among independent delicatessens, farm shops and food halls and build closer links between producers and retailers of speciality food.

With over 1,300 members across the UK, it undertakes a range of activities, from training to product award schemes, to promote excellence in all sectors of the trade.

For more than two decades the Guild has provided specialist training to deli counter staff, helping around 500 delegates each year improve their fine food product knowledge.

More recently it has developed management training to help start-up shop owners and newly appointed store managers with the business aspects of running a speciality food store.

The Guild also publishes the leading trade publications Fine Food Digest, Taste Gold and Good Cheese and runs annual Speciality Food Shows in Scotland and Harrogate.
